How Long Does the Battery Last?

Hush can play soothing sounds for up to 8 hours to protect your sleep through the night.* So that you can sleep worry free, Hush automatically fades out the playback sound when the battery gets low to ensure your alarm still rings in the morning, no matter how long you sleep! The Charge Case recharges Hush 3 full times, for up to 24 hours of playback without having to plug in!
*Sound Playback Time: Between 5 and 8 hours based on how loud you play the soothing sounds and other environmental factors.
Earplug Standby Time: Up to 120 hours of continuous connection outside of the Charge Case
Earplug Connection time after Sound Playback stops: Between 5 and 100 hours based on sound playback length.
Earplug battery life expectancy: The earplug batteries use standard Lithium ion chemistry that can undergo 300 full charge cycles before dropping to 80% of its original battery life.

Can Hush Stream Music From My Smartphone?

Hush is a smart earplug that is designed to protect your sleep throughout the night and in order to get meaningful battery life with our miniature ergonomic form factor, we had to limit what Hush could play. Currently hush can only play preset soothing sound tracks.

What if Hush is Uncomfortable For Me?

We’ve implemented many features that should make sleeping with Hush a pleasant experience, including an ultra-thin design and a variety of tip options (memory foam, silicone, custom molds). All ears are shaped differently though and we can’t guarantee that Hush will be comfortable for everyone. So, once we ship the product, we will have a 30-day return policy.

Does Hush Provide Active Noise Cancellation?

Hush reduces sound in two ways:

1. The sound eliminating foam provides passive noise reduction as a first sound barrier.
2. The in-ear speaker plays a track to mask any residual sound that the earplugs do not block out.

We combine these two time-tested popular approaches to dealing with noisy sleep environments. Active noise cancellation is a technology that is not generally effective at canceling out the sudden sounds that are most responsible for disturbing your sleep at night. That is why we do not use active noise cancellation but use the combination of two other effective means of noise isolation.

How Does Hush Deal With Radiation?

Hush achieves ultra-low radiation exposure because we do not stream audio throughout the night. Instead, Hush plays back audio files stored in the earplugs. Over the entire night, users are exposed to a fraction of what business professionals using Bluetooth® headsets are exposed to during a single phone call.

How Do You Clean Hush?

All of our tip options can be wiped down with a damped cloth or be replaced. The tips should be swapped as often as your hygienic tolerances allow – e.g. we personally replace the foam tips weekly however some people use the same foam for months on end.

If the Earplugs Fall Out While I Sleep, Will I Still Hear My Alarm?

The earplugs should not fall out if the correct sized tip is used and inserted correctly.* However, in the chance that both fall out, the earplugs will know because the user will not turn off the alarm. After three attempted one minute alarms within Hush, the system will sound the smartphone’s alarm. The user will then be able to hear the alarm through the smartphone’s speaker.

Will I Be Able to Hear Fire Alarms?

Hush blocks sounds up to ~70 decibels. Fire alarms, smoke alarms and other emergency alarms are generally programmed to be much louder than 70 decibels.

What is the Hush Warranty Policy?

Hush offers a 30-day return policy and a one year limited manufacturer warranty from the date of product receipt.

How Do You Block Out 70 Decibels of Noise?

The foam tip piece of Hush earplugs can passively reduce up to 30 decibels. When playing soothing sounds through the Hush App, Hush can effectively mask another 30-40 decibels, for a total of up to 70 decibels of effective noise isolation!

Can I Use Hush While On the Airplane

Hush is a short-range bluetooth low energy accessory that functions properly while on aircraft as it’s not dependent on a Wifi/LTE connection. It is permitted to use on aircraft, as according to the FAA website, “You can also continue to use short-range Bluetooth accessories, like wireless keyboards.
